It’s Time to Stop Targeting Trump

How much more invective will it take before someone succeeds in killing Donald Trump?

In the United States, during a political campaign between candidates of two parties, it’s been normal for partisans to say and print exaggerated, even dangerous things about the other party’s candidate.

The election campaign for president in 2024 has become one of the worst, with especially terrible things being said about former president Trump.

He has been called a Nazi, “a threat to democracy” and Hitler. These terms represent the beliefs of some Democrat party members, but they also can serve to radicalize the public.

Democrat leadership

President Biden, Vice President Harris, Sen. Schumer, Rep. Pelosi and other leaders have referred to the former president as an “existential threat to our democracy”, a fascist, a Nazi and one who should have a “target on his back”.

Major media outlets have expanded on this rhetoric, reinforcing it and implying its truth.

The fact that leaders of the Democrat party have repeated these dangerous terms has led to two attempts to assassinate Trump.
